Great pix - thanks for the tour!

I remember seeing the map posted on the Metro in the eighties with a dashed blue line heading west from Snowdon for three stops. The map changed in the nineties and I haven't seen it since. I have searched but not been able to find it online.

Personally, I think the extension of the blue line should stop at Loyola or the Montreal West train station. I think Lachine needs a more direct connection to downtown. This new line to the city center should be the priority. I think that an extension of the blue line should be part of a network mesh perspective and not as a primary link in Lachine.
En accord! Wasn't that the original plan?

It is true that we saw such machines on Notre-Dame in the East on the route of the REM ...
It is too early.

You mean before COVID? In what way? Where?

Old ad?

Astute observation; any theories?

Does that even make sense? Any architects who want to explain this?

What's the old expression: "Rome wasn't built in a day"?

They should leave it "on the rough" it's not that ugly like that, instead of the damn block-Lego design.
que veux-tu dire?

So they are literally building this from the inside out?

Yes, it definitely has a 1970's prefab air to it.

Seriously? That would be funny if it weren't so sad.

The history of the site: a first building was built in 1893 by the Board of Trade. A gigantic fire destroyed it in 1901. The building was rebuilt on the old foundations, in a more classical style. It is the building which is still on the site today. The Board of Trade accommodates there as well as several tenants. For more than 20 years, until the 1920s, it was the largest building in Old Montreal. The Board of Trade moved in 1967, but the building remained an office building. All the tenants finally leave the building for a total renovation in 2020-2021. Photos: 1) first building from 1893, 2) the same building burnt down in 1901, 3) the new building from 1903 in place of the old one, which still remains today.
Thank you for the detailed research and illustrations.

Good point but they will have to exit towards the parking lot to the east. Won't that mean that any developer of the parking lot have to provide some sort of access? How does that work anyway?

Merci

Beautiful building. Residential or offices? Any more information?

A bit of a building boom on that stretch of the Decaire which would not be my first choice for a location to buy a condo.
