  1. In some cities like Singapore (known for planning) , the government has built stations for the future developments and left it dormant until the developments catch up so when the population threshold is reached, the station is activated and residents enjoy immediate service without inconvenience. 2 stations is definitely the way to go and a small price to pay since it's above ground. Griffintown and multimedia city could certainly benefit from it (or build an interior moving walkway system and shops under the rail bridge where the storage is and link it to the central station that way) and then another station more centralised to the bassin development. It can be dormant until the beast of development awakes and roars in the neighbourhood.

Une idée semi-temporaire pour ce qu'il reste de béton endommagé: un mur végétal! Ça moderniserait pas mal l'édifice en conservant sa forme, et ajouterait une petite touche de couleur.

    Exemple:

It's unfortunately not practical for Montréal's winters. In Kansas, one of the brutalist structures was reclad rather tastefully I find.

  3. At this point, they should really just wash the concrete and use some panels to make it work with the glass like the front facade of the police post on William in Griffintown.. And for the love of god, do something about the place bonnaventure sign that welcomes people to the city...

Ah OK! I'm moving in late October, I can not wait to see what it looks !!

Hopefully when our rooftop terrase opens for LSV4, the rules won't be as archaic and draconian as what is in place for the urban chalet and the rest of LSV (the urban chalet is managed by LSV123 and LSV4). It is a mix of irresponsible usage by some co-owners as well as older co-owners who are unwilling to share and acclimatize to younger vibes that has turned LSV into a nanny state.

The problem with the idea of greening the sides of the highway is the weather. Winter in Quebec and many other species ...

Ah ok, ça a du sens. Merci!

I never thought of this and actually now, I understand why the poor trees along Robert bourrasa blvd are so sad looking. Thanks for the insight.

I did read more and see that there's species of trees that can tolerate saline spray and soil better. Maybe we can use these trees?

  6. Would have been so beautiful if they had strips of light in the ground where the concrete connected to create a beautiful patchwork of criss-crossing lights. And also on the seating area which has metal strips along it's length. Would have been nice if they incorporated lights into it. I think the lighting in that park could have been made alot better to really enhance the wow factor as you enter the City of Montreal whether by train or road. Still, it's a great improvement overall as opposed to having an expressway there.
