Great picture, but the absolute worst angle for that building, especially with the truncated crown. In 2D it looks like a monotonous mass of grey concrete squares, straight out of the 70s.

Although the 1970's never were know for large windows; in fact, almost always tiny slivers of windows.

Je me souviens encore de Pierre Bourque qui avait accepté le Bureau en Gros au milieu des 90s en mentionnant que ce serait temporaire en attendant une future construction. J'en riait dans le temps et j'en ri encore.

Well, he wasn't wrong.  It's was specially built for BeG and is an easy tear-down that doesn't even take up the whole lot.

If this was Broccolini's, a Montreal based company, towers would already been up on this site. CF is from Toronto, they give no S**t about this city. Since Plante is at helm, they vanished.

Your last sentence says it all.  Obviously the Plante Admin is playing a part to some degree in their disinterest in developing these last great blocks.   That said...I thought CF announced they were going ahead with a phase I residential building.

Anyways, dropped the ball or whatever,  the market is on-hold whether it's commercial or condo.  Rentals is another story I suppose.

These two towers looks like part of the same project that is to say, like a single complex with a commercial tower and a residential tower.  To the naked eye the glass coloration is so similar (esp in this light), they both have the transparent crowns/parapets.  I really wish they looked more distinct in particular in coloration of the exterior envelop.

  5. There is a NY skyscraper - the Spiral - wrapping up construction in Hudson yards... there are trees that wind-up the thing all the way up to 308 m. And there won't be a tall parapet protecting them as at PBN - especially during the cold winter months.   They are probably going to plant those lollipop trees  anyways that don't offer a ton of shade as they grow but look kinda cute and add greenery.

Et dire que Val Plante veut s'inspirer de Paris avec du max 37m partout.... Elle a tu déjà marché à Montréal? Regardez moi ces townhouses à perte de vue à un pied du core.

    That *should be up-zoned.  🤗
