Official launch, parle-t'on des deux tours qui constituent la phase 1 du projet ou d'une seule d'entre elle?

Not sure it doesn't specify but it's when you click on EST,.Question is EST just the eastern tower or is Est phase 1 consisting of the two towers.(Someone on MTLURB must know?) (https://estwestcondos.ca). As for Elmo514's point, must be from pre-sales by Devimco vip's lol

Seulement si l'administration municipale fait une demande formelle...

Aussi, voici les préférences d'Amazon pour le lieu idéal.

The west island, just west of fairview would be ideal, fits all their criteria plus they could be right beside an REM station, plus the bus terminus at fairview.

The reasons why Toronto surpassed Montreal in size and global importance are well-documented, including on this forum.

Toronto didn't surpass Montreal because it was/is willing to build taller skyscrapers.

Been walking around downtown Toronto lately? The place is a mess. I am currently working in Toronto (did not move for political/economic reasons) and can personally attest to situation on the ground, especially in the Southcore. Numerous 200+ meter skyscrapers with absolutely zero ground level interaction. Suburbs in the sky. Wind tunnels. Buildings that are a copy/paste function of one another.

I am an architect and an urbanist and a skyscraper enthusiast, but height for the sake of height (read profit) is ruining Toronto. While I would be happy to see taller skyscrapers in Montreal, I value a more methodical approach to development.

Let Toronto play the short game and continue to stress its already overburdened system in its goal for global recognition. It may lead to its downfall.

From every time I visit Toronto for business or friends I find the same things. However having a few nice tall towers or clusters in between good street density and urban planing can be really nice for both pictures and life.

Found this series today that looks at different areas of architecture (Big City Icons, City Squares, Parks and Gardens etc.) and has one episode dedicated to stadiums and arenas which includes a portion on Montreal's Olympic Stadium.  Season 1, Ep. 5, 11:50 in.  Haven't seen any other episode but figured some of you here may enjoy the show.

Yeah I saw that as well, was going to post it here but you beat me to it. I also watched the parks one and unfortunately mount royal wasn't on the list(same designer as central park) which was #1 on the list.

007 - wrong plant. The one that closed was on Viau near Sherbrooke. This one is alive and well.

They even have (had the other day anyway) a sign up "nous embauchons".

  6. These rankings for "best cities to live" should be using criteria whereas to create a "best cities to live no matter who you are"... i.e actual best cities to live in, the way it's structured is honestly quite ridiculous and misleading. You would think something like this would be to help someone decide where to go to start a new and to grow and to have a family whereas to not have to displace again. Whatever, we all know Montreal is the best :P  haha

Bad point for Montreal money beggar at every corner.

I saw more money beggar in Montreal than in Madrid or Athens, two cities which suffer terrible economic crisis.

Well if you look at it in a different way it isn't so bad. A beggar can survive in Montreal because the cost of living is so low, I'm sure most have somewhere to live(the people asking for money aren't usually the ones sleeping on a park bench, at least from my experience) it is almost physically impossible for someone like that to survive in a high cost city. Also Montrealers are more kind than Montrealers make them out to be. Maybe if we were as mean as we say beggars wouldn't even try to ask for money and they would just hide away out of sight. I don't know but there are always positives and negatives with every situation we just have to juggle between to get the best overall result for the citizens of this great city.

If they can manage to get a grocery store in one of the buildings, it be a great location. Easy access on and off the highway and really close to the train.

Maybe they can get the city to fork over some cash, so they can put in a walkway from the north side of the highway to the southside. So they can access the water.

There is a walkway actually. I know it had been closed at some point but I think it is open again. It's essentially 50ft from where the grocery store would be.

Ce matin, j'ai remarqué qu'il y avait des tests de sol en cours sur le terrain adjacent au siège social de SNC-Lavalin. Les tests étaient effectués par la compagnie Forage Downing. Signe d'un projet futur à venir sur ce site?

Huge development where they build a tower over 200m, half for Snc and half for great west to move to Montreal? Haha wouldn't that be nice lol

This forum is a prime example of how both of those affects are true at the same time. Some will always feel like loi 101 PQ ruined things and they will always do something to justify that, unfortunately I know plenty of people who think there aren't welcome and there are no opportunities here and that going to Ontario is just the solution. At the same time, there are many people like myself who look deeper, who feel a connection with our province and especially our city that when someone like the PLQ are making anglo's and others at least feel more welcome it is extremely positive and good things happen and it gets pointed out. So you have companies just like people who will find anything to move or not need to be here, and you will find companies who will find anything to stay because they love it here. Though I very much agree with your second point, Ontario doesn't seem to care about looking into corruption because evidently there is none there :P
