  1. Hello guys, A small update on my case after my complains to the city of montreal. They send a sound specialist to start an investigation on the sound source and they have done some decibal test last friday which was around 52DB. They definetly agree that the sound is coming from that ventilation system on the rooftop facing l'avenue. They went to bell center and asked the responsable of that ventilation system and they have coordinated with them to stop that system and run another test which was done with success yesterday afternoon. As soon as they stoped them all (6 in total) wow we can see the difference but someone from la cage au sport called and said hey turn it on because it's smelling bad here so these systems belong to la cage au sport and I am just wondering why not turning them off when you close the restaurant. Now that we know the source I will have to wait to see what the city would do with that and how bell center is going to fix that issue. I asked them for now if they could let them know to turn it off every night before they leave so I can have a better sleep at least which they didn't do last night. The guy said it's the series now and for sure they won't start with fixing this issue until they have done with the series so let's cross the fingers. But I am still sure that those curtain wall glasses are not top quality since I am able to hear every detail happening outside beside that ventilation system. people shouting, singing a car horn and much more and the builder is still telling me we got our license from RBQ with all validation done and we respect all constructions normes and city etc....
  2. Today one of the project manager came to visit my unit to have an idea of the sound coming in to my unit and he said that's normal because of the shape of the building facing the south is not aligned like the north part and all of this word that they did their test and respect all the normes de construction and acoutstic test was done with success etc... I went to visit another unit facing rocabella with him and we were able to hear the same exact noise. They said they will keep me in touch but for them nothing they can do anything about it since it's a curtain window and not like concrete wall. From my side I called the city and explained a bit and they will send an inspector in a couple of days to do some test so I don't know how they will proceed with that... will keep you informed if anything happens. Is the DECIBAL MEter in the app store accurate? Or should I buy one and do the test? what would be the average for that area ?
  3. Thanks for that suggestion I will try to call the city and let them know and also before that will try to meet a couple of guys living on the 10th floor to see if they are hearing the same thing and if we could be a couple of guys and call them. For the curtains I was going to buy a windows shade blackout but as your suggestions I might cancel that and go for a real thick curtain. Any idea if they have acoustic curtain in Montreal?
  4. it's exactly it and I hear it all day all night while door closed and while sleeping and I am facing the south and it make me nervous sometime to sleep.
  5. I really do not know what to do with this and the promoter does not seem to collaborate too much and I have no neighbors on my floor to ask if they hears the noise too. They just said we are up to the building code as to the soundproofing of the building (inside and outside), but can not control the external sounds unfortunately. Is there anything I can do from the inside to filter the noise a bit more? or do a complain somewhere to see if they can move those stuff elsewhere? I guess it's not since it's bell center and you can't do anything againt it.
  6. Hello Guys, I live in this tower since a couple of days and wanted to ask if it's normal to hear the ventilation system above the bell center while the doors are closed in the condo? That voice is kind of stressing and running like 24h and when I asked the developer they said that their bulding is built with top quality of curtain windows and that they can't control the sound from inside or outside. It's just terrible that you trying to sleep and you can hear that noise. My unit is on the 17 floor and I am able to hear all of that.
