I really like this tower compared to most of the projects being built in the city. The prefab has an interesting design, and the copper-coloured accents are quite unique amongst a sea of blue-tinted glass. It's a great addition to an otherwise barren part of downtown.

I have to disagree. I find these two to be absolutely hideous. Driving into Griffintown from the east, you’re confronted with a massive black wall with hodgepodge windows. At the street level, the siding on the podium is as cheap as can be and the units above the sidewalk look like prison cells. The empty space between the two towers is also very awkward, and the “art installation” on the balconies looks like something you’d find on the side of a daycare.
overall, an epic failure imo.

Ce quartier me rappelle Dumbo à Brooklyn.

100% agree - not to mention.. GRAFFITI EVERYWHERE

Mmm you do realize that there will still be 4 car lanes on R-L, probably 2 in each direction right?
The street is now ~7 lanes (the center lanes are about 1.5 wide) with fairly narrow sidewalks and a narrow median. Given this quote:
“On Rene-Levesque, were giving back the equivalent of four lanes to pedestrians and cyclists. Everyone will be able to completely enjoy this new space. We will be installing a brand new transportation system. It will make the downtown core more attractive than today,” Ducharme said.
I find it hard to believe that there will be space for 4 lanes of traffic, which would not be sufficient given how much traffic passes along Rene Levesque during rush hour. We should also be prepared to see every single concrete pillar covered in graffiti. The fact that they will be sealed to allow easy removal doesn't negate the fact that taggers will have a field day on these structures, and the city's and province's lack of initiative to tackle graffiti issues in other parts of the city (see the new Turcot structures) should be a major red flag to anyone who concerned with the cleanliness and appearance of our downtown core.

How can we fathom eliminating 4 lanes of traffic on one of the city's main thoroughfares? The impact on traffic will be disastrous. The more we focus on the architectural elements and urban integration of this project, the further away we get from (what I see as) one of the main issues with this project: we are allowing the private sector to completely disfigure a significant portion of our downtown core without any reliable data showing that it will improve mobility or reduce greenhouse gas emissions (and I would argue that even if it were to achieve those goals in any meaningful way, a 20m high concrete structure passing through downtown is hardly an acceptable reality).

I'm optimistic that some of the less fortunate (aka Devimco-sponsored) projects in Griffintown will look nicer once the roads are refurbished and more greenery is added to the neighborhood. I'm hoping to see more streets looking like the northern stretch of Shannon.

Is this the area slated to be turned into a park?

Wow that was quick. Impressed by the velocity of the sales at this price bracket.
It's all family and friends who have already bought.. including Brocco themselves

FYI
-
The penthouse units start at 1,800+tax, plus parking.
The sales launch is around Sept 22
-
A replica of the Alexander appartement buildings. Nothing but originality from Devimco 😑
-
Broccolini sells a lot of their units before the pre-sale to "friends and family". It happened at L'Avenue, 628 St Jacques, and VsP... I'm curious to see how quickly the larger units are sold here as well

Not sure if this was brought up, but it seems like a big portion of the REM extension covers areas that are already served by the green line. It's too bad that denser neighbourhoods like the Plateau and Rosemont are ignored in this plan.

At the street level, this one is actually quite nice. I hope the surrounding area is spruced up a bit as it becomes more populated.
