Montreal needs to get better in desiging the buildings of it future skyline , these and other new propose towers are very generic for my taste. If the city cannot build tall , then at least build beautiful !
ps : Glad Montreal is getting a mini boom

Il prend davantage de volume en largeur qu'en hauteur, mais récemment c'est le nombre de tours de plus de 35 à 58 étages à divers stades de projets qui a explosé dans le c-v, du jamais vu à Mtl! 😃
I remember when the bell centre area started with the 5 towers being built, was a dream, this time we just keep reaching for the sky, taller and better! Great times to be a member of MTLURB , lol

Attends de voir l'éclairage, c'est ça qui sera la cerise sur le sundae.
hahahahaha , merci , maybe hope

It is such an average very expensive bridge in my opinion, so sad they did not push the design a bit further to make something epic.

Hey, guys, do you have an idea of how many meters these towers will have? I see a render only with 1 tower, while on the post it says 42 & 52 , i am all confused, Thanks

What I've drawn is my own vision of what shape that extension should take. It's definitely technically feasible. We've seen much more complicated projects elsewhere around the world. The main problem we face, in order to build high rise on the highway, is the MTQ and the government general, recurrent and well known lack of ambition and absence of knowledge in contemporary city-making practices. Also money. Detail. But I think that a private housing and commercial project should be merged with this public extension.
Thanks for your very explicative answer . Your concept is great for this part of the city

Sorry my maybe fool question, but, is this for real !?

Hudson Yard is simply mind blowing, saw it recently and its pure wow . If we make 100 metters towers with amazing designs it will still give a lot of prestige to this city. I will take the east part of montreal for a micro skyline full of awesome architectural buildings. Maybe in 2050 😉. Near the olympic tower could be the spot ( dreaming ).
These Maestria towers are in my opinion just tall and nothing more, they are very conservative in design .

Welcome!! And yes, I do agree, the East is in great need of attention. But I wouldn't say it needs bigger or higher projects, more like better projects first. Luckily, that one seems to achieve and balance both; height and quality. The skyline is improving but the street and the public space improves equally. Sadly, concentrating efforts on a skyline shape as seen from afar doesn't do much for a city's life beside producing more impressive postal cards. Thats why, if I had to select between the two, I would always go for architecture quality rather than height outbidding.
Totally agree with you...i always said that knowing the hight limit in montreal ,its better to make not tall but awesome buildings. Not those generic 120 metters box towers that happend to be sometimes. Creativity and audacity over heights takes for me the long run . If you are going to build small, make it amazing. My 2 cents.

I remember years ago when Altitude was being built i was all excited ( tom still in progress) 😂... now this tower is going to give the skyline a very fresh modern look so needed. Can 2021 come faster ? 😂

I have been reading you guys in the dark for the last 10 years... lol... at least once a week... its time to join the forum in these exciting times for Montreal skyline.
On this building side. I hope it gets approved at the current height. Those towers will expand the skyline to the east .

That terrain was recently sold (Saint-Laurent à l'entrée du Chinatown)! i passed and saw the VENDU sign on it Lets wait until a really nice tower gets build in there , just a matter of time .

Every time i see this tower (almost everyday) i said to myself the same/ Its a good tower, dont get me wrong, but 10 more floors would have made it look AMAZING... well i guess in Montreal we just CANT have it ALL . I will live with it > FATTY SHORTY GOOD LOOKING LADY

just WHOA !! how high they could go in here ??? one they this city will regret the retarded height restrictions with the Mount Royal that is more a hill than a mountain !!! LOL nice news for this one , i did not see it coming !

this building with a height of 180 metters and same design would have been a BEAST in our skyline !! i like it but nostalgia invade my heart sometimes
