The reason why I chose to highlight this project is because of its location and that it lends itself to a much greater discussion. Firstly, it is an example of yet another quality project in an area that is known for being low-income and aesthetically sub-par.

 

Secondly, this project is located in the section of Ville Saint Pierre that is very much ‘Montreal West Adjacent’. In fact if it wasn’t for municipal borders it would make a lot more sense for this area of Ville Saint Pierre in particular to be part of Montreal West as opposed to Lachine. That being said, Montreal West has actually closed off vehicular access to the area from Chemin Broughton making a neighbourhood that should be a theoretical extension of Montreal West into a neighbourhood closed off from it. It is now only accessible from Chemin Avon the street that leads into the rest of Ville Saint Pierre (west of the train tracks).

Ce projet me semble plus compatible avec le ''niveau social'' de Mtl-Ouest plutot qu'avec les gens de Ville St-Pierre. Comme tu le dis bien si ce n'était des divisions municipales ce secteur devrait faire parti de Mtl-Ouest tant du point de vue géographique que social. Le but n'étant pas de ''discriminer'' mais plutot d'etre logique car c'est gens préfèreront surement dire qu'ils habitent à Mtl-Ouest plutot qu'à St-Pierre. Question de prestige quoi.

 

Mais le projet est assez volumineux et à ce qu'on peut voir il y a encore un peu de place pour agrandrir éventuellement.

With this sort of "Rona-style" materials, I can kind of understand why it isn't in Montreal West!
