Just so we're all clear, we're not talking about the Southam building north of the Mosaique Southam, but rather the 6-storey building west of the Mosaique Southam, at the corner of Saint-Alexandre and de la Gauchetiere, right?

Or is it all one building stretching from Saint-Alexandre to de Bleury?

1061 St-Alexandre will be developed into lofts (except the ground floor which will be commercial space) by the same team that has redeveloped Gillette Lofts @ 1085 St-Alexandre, one building away. Once all new occupants of Gillette Lofts have taken delivery (in the next 2-3 weeks) the team will switch their attention to 1061. Projected occupancy dates in late 2009/10 assuming no major hiccups.

It could be nice for the project if they turn the parking lot of le Gesu into a greenspace (as in the diagrams)

 

It also may be uninteresting for buyers if they build the Philips Square tower, which would obscure the view from the back of the lofts. Hope they're aware of that possibility!

I hope so!, even now the view is not so great, a parking lot, and after probably the back wall of the canderel office building!

Ça fesait un moment que je voulais prendre quelques photos pour le fil... Il semble que le bureau des ventes de Gillette soit déménagé au 1061, mais je n'ai pas vu de signe imminent d'un début de chantier, je ne sais pas si la situation du crédit va retarder le projet, mais la bâtisse a un énorme potentiel. Quelqu'un sait si la bâtisse rouge (1063 St-Alexandre) fait aussi parti de ce projet ?

No, 1063 St-Alexandre is not part of the project for sure.

 

The Gillette Lofts team who are behind the 1061 project (The Wilson Building) are still swamped by work to complete their original project. After many, many, many delays, communication problems, poor workmanship and ultimately legal wrangling, the main contractor was given the boot and a new contractor was hired to complete the project.

 

As a Gillette Lofts purchaser (and recent new resident) I just want them to get the damn thing completed
