Violent night leaves 2 dead, 4 injuredThree shot and two stabbed for a cigarette The Gazette June 15, 2009 MONTREAL - Police have no suspects after a violent Sunday night in Montreal and Laval in which two men were killed in separate shootings, another was injured by gunfire and two men were stabbed for a cigarette. At 7 p.m, at the corner of Allée des Pruches and Duquesne St. in the east-end Mercier/Hochelaga/Maisonneuve borough, a group of about 15 youths were gathered outside of an apartment building when someone approached and fired a gun, striking a 20-year-old man in the head. He died later in a hospital, and his death is the 12th homicide of 2009, Montreal police Constable Daniel Lacoursière said. Police have no suspects in that case, he said. About 1:15 a.m., police were called to Dominion and Quesnel Sts. in Little Burgundy after gunshots were heard fired in the street, Lacoursière said. When police arrived they found two men, ages 25 and 22, lying on the street gravely wounded. They were rushed to a hospital but the 25-year-old died of his injuries. His death became the 13th homicide of the year. Police have no suspects in the case. Also last night, at about 10:30 a man, 41, walked up to a man, 36, near the Papineau métro station and asked for a cigarette. The younger man replied that he didn’t smoke and he was then stabbed in the upper body, suffering minor injuries, Lacoursière said. A few blocks away, on Ste. Catherine and Dorion Sts., the same assailant asked another person, a 67-year-old man, for a cigarette. He gave him one but was also stabbed in the upper body, Lacoursière said. Police managed to arrest the attacker nearby and he was being questioned by police, Lacoursière said. Both victims were in stable condition Monday morning. Finally, a 43-year-old man was shot in the left calf after an altercation with two men in the parking lot of an IGA grocery store at about 9 p.m. on de la Concorde Blvd. in the Duvernay section of Laval. Police heard about the incident when the victim showed up at Montreal police station 30 on Pie IX Blvd. in north-end Montreal after the attack. The victim was in stable condition and was cooperating with police somewhat, although details on his attackers were sketchy, Laval police Constable Frank Di Genova said. © Copyright © The Montreal Gazette http://www.montrealgazette.com/story_print.html?id=1697377&sponsor= Citer Lien vers le commentaire Partager sur d’autres sites

Does he have any mental issues or what? It's pretty obvious this guy has mental issues. Most people living on the streets have mental issues......as a society, we have decided it's where they belong. Djentmaster001 Posté(e) 17 février Partager Posté(e) 17 février So sorry to bump this thread, however, did not see a current one about homicides and did not feel like making a new thread. Regardless, the city is already at 6 murders, which is about a 500% increase YoY at the same time of the year. With increased gang activity, domestic disputes, drugs, mental health issues, homeless, the city is on a very dangerous track. At this pace, we will probably hit 50 or more murders this year. This comes after the SPVM and city celebrated too early about a crime drop. I know our rates are lower than major cities in the U.S and all that, but it does not change the fact that the city has gotten pretty ghetto and dangerous. 1 Citer Lien vers le commentaire Partager sur d’autres sites
ToxiK Posté(e) 17 février Partager Posté(e) 17 février We have more crimes because we have not defunded the police enough, of course. That is so obvious... Less police = less crimes, every criminal will tell you that, and who knows more about crime than criminals? 1 Citer Lien vers le commentaire Partager sur d’autres sites
