Cuvées d'ici - Des vins québécois se distinguent en Europe

Des vins de glace et de vendange tardive produits au Québec viennent de remporter cinq médailles, dont quatre d’or, au concours des Vinalies Internationales de l’Union des œnologues de France.

 

Le Vignoble Rivière du Chêne, de Saint-Eustache, a obtenu une médaille d’or pour son vin de glace Monde et une médaille d’argent pour sa Cuvée glacée des Laurentides.

 

Le Vignoble du marathonien, situé à Havelock, en Montérégie, a gagné deux médailles d’or pour ses vins de glace et de vendange tardive, et le vignoble L’Orpailleur, de Dunham, une médaille d’or pour son vin de glace.

 

Il s’agissait d’une première participation de vignerons québécois à ce prestigieux concours, auquel étaient inscrits quelque 3 000 produits provenant de 41 pays.

 

Les vins québécois se sont distingués dans de nombreux concours au Canada et aux États-Unis mais, jusqu’à présent, très peu de vignerons du Québec ont présenté leurs produits dans les concours européens.

 

Le vignoble du Marathoniens appartient aux parents d'un de mes chums, et je peux vous dire que le leur vin de glace est excellent. Ce n'est d'ailleurs pas la première fois qu'ils se distinguent à l'international.

Quebec has the region and know how to produce quality wines that aren't ice wine. Let's focus on that. What seperates the Niagara Peninsula and Okanagan Valley from the Monteregie regions? None that I can think of. If I'm not mistaken the longitude/latitude of the Monteregie region is the same as bordeaux, so if they can do it, than so can we.

Look, Dan Akroyd from the Ghostbuster movies has his own winery and so does Greg Norman the Australian Golfer and so many other celebrities including Wayne Gretzky, Francis Ford Coppola the movie director, they know jack shit about growing wines, you simply have to surround yourself with wine connaisseurs.

I do think you're a well-spoken person, and not stupid at all, only your comment about Bordeaux being the same thing as Monteregie without any investigation was. Sorry if I was rude, but it just didn't make any sense to compare those two regions on the simple fact that they are roughly at the same latitude...

Sans vouloir faire de la publicitié, mais bien parce que je connais bien la place car j'y suis allé plusieurs fois, le vignoble le marathonien offre de visiter à son rythme le vignoble et les installations. Et bien sûr, à la fin de la visite, il est possible de goûter les vins et d'acheter quelques bouteilles.

P.S.: Prévoir un budget quand même important, c'est environ 50$ pour un vin de glace (375ml) et 30$ pour un vendanges tardives (ceux qui font la renommée de la maison!)
