In Portugal, they have radar attached to a light. If the limit is 50km/h and you go just 1 km/h over the limit, the radar will tell the light to turn red before you get to the intersection.

 

In other words, go over the limit and you screw yourself over by having to wait 10-15 seconds for the light to turn back.

 

it exists on sherbrooke west in the other republic, westmount, but the speed is 40kmh. So frustrating. I just burn one yellow after the other ;)
