The official term is "driving under the influence," and while it traditionally refers to being drunk behind the wheel, it also covers any type of mind-altering substance.

As of Wednesday, police officers have new tools to go after drivers suspected of using marijuana, cocaine, or any other kind of drug, including those legally available.

"This new law applies to every type of drugs including prescription drugs, over-the-counter drugs, and this applies to any kind of drug that would leave you impaired," said lawyer Jordan Charness.

How about they change the damn laws about drunk driving! You kill someone you spend the rest of your life in prison. If you injure someone while you driving drunk you lose your car and license for life. If you are caught again (seeing you loss your license), you go to prison for life, but NO Quebec has to be a forgiving province, bloody BS!
