Can the current basement structure support a 200m tower? I think it was originally planned for a 15-20 storey building. I wonder if a new build would have to completely scrap the existing base or simlpy reinforce it. @budgebandit?

Personally, I would like to see a 140-170 meter building on this site. I am thinking taller than the twins to the north, but not quite as tall as TDLB.

The original site was for a 10 and 31 storey office tower. There would be no major issue with two 200m towers.

I don't see how a foundation buried in tons of dirt for over 30 years can be in good condition, I certainly wouldn't want to live in any tower built on this site ( Quebec doesn't have a great history when it comes to concrete )

Pompei has been buried for over 2000 years and most is still intact. Altho yeah its not the "béton du Québec".

Also the main reason why concrete suck here, its because it's expose to the elements & salt so I would not be worry about concrete buried below the grass. Also those foundation are less old then the SunLife, PVM or CIBC & nobody is worrying about those ones.
