Bien vu Urbino.

@ mtlrdp :

Perception, Toronto is the future. Reality, Toronto still lives in the past. Fun Fact Gardiner Expressway was completed a year before the Maple Laffs won their last Stanley Cup in... 1967. Sorry for such brutal honesty. :silly:

Many here are so easy to offend. Chill lmao. It's not that deep.

Especially from people who live in a city which features the lovely Metropolitan and Decarie expressways

We were just lucky that the Ville-Marie Expressway ended-up being a tunnel and trench - a trench being moderately easier to deal with now even though it did scar the urban fabric and we lost countless (really good) buildings and homes.

LOL ! As far as i know they aren't located directly in the middle of the downtown core like the Gardiner.

If I may be permitted one last post in this silly tangent, the worst “highway-through-downtown” on the planet is the combined monstrosity of the Cahill Expressway segment that divides Sydney’s central business district from the harbour (Circular Quay) entertainment district. It’s a double-whammy, with cars on the upper level and train lines below, with busy Circular Quay station five metres above street level.

Boston was the same until they put it underground with the famous "Big Dig". https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Big_Dig

Seattle had the same problem and is taking the same action. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/State_Route_99_tunnel
