An alternative proposal for pink line / Une proposition alternative pour la ligne rose

Peux tu donner une image complète du réseau? À te comprendre, tu voudrais totalement modifier le trajet de la ligne verte aussi pour transformer certaines de ses stations actuelles en station d'une ligne jaune prolongée, et certaines en station de la future ligne rose? 🤔

Salut. C'est une idée à laquelle je pensais depuis un moment, mais je vois que la ligne rose est sérieusement envisagée, alors j'ai pensé que je devrais la faire connaître. Je ne pense pas qu'un tramway fournira une capacité suffisante pour ce couloir, je propose donc que ce soit une extension du réseau de métro. Oui, je propose que la ligne verte traverse le centre-ville, avec la ligne jaune étendue pour desservir la partie nord du centre-ville, puis de continuer à desservir la ligne verte actuelle jusqu'à Lasalle. 

J'ai proposé la fin de la ligne rose à Lafleur à Lasalle pour fournir un bon terminal à Lasalle Ouest et à la Rive-Sud (Pont Mercier). La Ligne verte desservirait l’avenue du Mont-Royal à Parc, puis à la station McGill. Je propose cet alignement car il assure de bonnes liaisons de transfert entre les différentes lignes. Je suis un anglophone de N.D.G., traduit avec l'aide de Google. J'espère que ça a fait du bon travail. Je vous remercie.

Thanks a lot for the clarification, makes a lot more sense. Is there a reason you would retrofit so much of the existing network? Seems like a massive and questionable investment for very minimal returns. I’m also curious to how would envision the pink like without a massive reconfiguration of the legacy network?

I don't see it a "retrofit". I would consider this an extension of the current network, using the same equipment and train-length. The demand on this corridor would surely be much more than a flimsy street-car line could manage.

The proposed realignment of the Green Line is to provide better connection opportunities between the various lines. This proposed network provides 11 stations for transfers.

I've attached some updates maps for this idea, including a alignment for the Rachel transfer station from what I posted previously.

Here is an alternative proposal for the implementation of the Pink Line:

• Pink Line: As I suggested previously, the Pink Line would be implemented as an extension of the current Metro network. It would use the existing corridor from Atwater to Frontenac through downtown, which is currently serviced by the Green Line. The proposed western terminal for the Pink Line is located in Lasalle at the intersection of Lafleur and Clément -- an excellent hub for bus lines that serve the South Shore and the West Island.
• Green Line: The Green Line would use a new corridor that services Le Plateau between Édouard-Montpetit and Préfontaine, and would also service the existing Blue-Line corridor from Édouard-Montpetit to Snowdon.
• Blue Line: The Blue Line, from Édouard-Montpetit, would use a new corridor that connects to Atwater with stations at Lac-aux-Castors and l'Hôpital général de Montréal, and would also service the existing Green-Line corridor from Atwater to Angrignon.

Proposed here is the implementation of the pink line as an extension to the existing Metro network, including a realignment of the blue and green lines.

The green line would use a new corridor along L'Avenue du Mont-Royal between Édouard-Montpetit and Préfontaine, and it would also use the existing blue line corridor to Snowdon.

The blue line would use a new corridor from Édouard-Montpetit to Atwater with stations at Parc du Mont-Royal and Avenue du Docteur-Penfield, and it would also use the existing green line corridor to Angrignon. 

The pink line would use the existing green line corridor between Atwater and Frontenac. The western terminal for the pink link would be located at Lafleur / Clément which would include a regional bus terminal for routes serving the South Shore and the West Island.
