I don't see a reason for all the anger and dismay. P4 is just an alternate parking. Most people already park outside the multilevel parking structure (P1/2), and while some walk from P5 (adjacent to P1/2), most already take the shuttles from P5/6/7/8/9, Indigo and Vinci. P4 will be more parking, that's all. When the new P1/2 is built, it will cover P5 as well, and have much more capacity, along with the intermodal transit centre. P4 will continue to offer a less expensive alternative for those who don't mind a shuttle or a stroll.

Le deal, c'est que le débarcadère est saturé (et c'est même pas assez fort comme mot) alors de rajouter encore plus de trafic aux alentours c'est la pire idée qui soit.

 

Je sais bien que c'est trop intelligent ou trop demander pour ADM mais un tapis roulant passant en tunnel qui serait relié aux sous-sols de l'hôtel (peut-être où est la clinique Biron ou l'ancienne "supposé" gare de train) aurait été une bien meilleure solution.

This is an alternate parking structure. P4 will not be the main parking structure. P1/2 is getting rebuilt, so P4 must be completed before the main work starts on P1/2. But even so, almost every major airport doesn't have a large parking structure just steps from the terminal. You have to take a train or shuttle bus at Atlanta, LAX, Vegas, O'hare, LGA, JFK. But once again, this is a remote parking, and does not replace P1/2 permanently. It's not hard to understand. Y'all gotta chill a bit.

À pied. Il se trouve littéralement à deux minutes à pied des portes du Marriott et des comptoirs d'enregistrement transfrontaliers.

C'est gros pour du "alternate parking". Très gros. Surtout que la structure entière est sur 4 étages, 5 si on peut stationner sur le toit. Massif. À l'entrée du parking, on peut marcher sur une piste cyclable en site propre qui nous amène au terminal. Peut-être qu'il y aura une station bixi pour notre confort. Sûrement des vélos avec un gros panier en avant pour mettre notre valise. Valérie est contente.

Just ask the hundreds of people who park illegally every day in our reserved spots in the Transport Canada lot across the street from P4 how quick it is to walk to the main terminal along the large sidewalk, and come back with luggage carts. Seriously, complaining for the sake of complaining gets old quickly.

PS: yes, it's large. 3300 spaces. The rebuilt P1/2 will supposedly have the intermodal transit centre as well as 6000 spaces and a green roof. It will be roughly twice the size of P4.

Mettons 150$ le ticket par char plus le remorquage, cela ferait un joli magot pour l'agrandissement de l'aérogare!🙂

C'est ben plus que 150$. Avec les frais de remorquage ça monte rapidement aux alentours de $300. Mais y a tellement de monde qui le fait que TC n'est plus capable d'y répondre. Il y avait un propos d'installer une barricade à l'entrée, mais pour les quelque 150 places réservées et utilisateurs temporaires, ils ne peuvent justifier les dépenses liées à l'installation ainsi qu'au système de transpondeur.

C'est ce que je disais 150$ + le remorquage. Si ce n'est pas assez 300$ + le remorquage ou encore 450$ plus le remorquage. Les gens finiraient par comprendre, quoique! 1000$ plus le remorquage avec un message comme à New York: Don't Even Think to Park Here! 🙂

En plus, ils pourraient utiliser la fourrière à l'est de la 25. 😈
