DJJB
I'm curious to see if it will actually smoothen out the traffic jams on the highway fly-over. Since traffic can then split off faster from the traffic to departures/arrivals to the Cardinal exit. If I'd dream a bit more, I'd imagine (directly after the exit towards Cardinal Av) another exit on the left-hand side that will be a fly-over bridge over Boul Roméo-Vachon S and having an entrance on a higher floor to spread the load from the Albert-de-Navierville intersection. Either that, or another dedicated highway fly-over somewhere around Bd Fénelon, but we all know that that will never see the light of day. 1
mal
Today, on my way to the airport, I took Dorval roundabout towards Michel Jasmin Av. I was able to skip the traffic and it took me only 15 min to reach departures. But I am afraid soon it will become popular an the traffic will move there. What I noticed bothers me more. The traffic on the departure ramp was mostly because half of the cars there were waiting for pick-up passengers from arrivals and were blocking the spots to drop-off. They were waiting for 10-15-20 minutes and the security didn't pay attention at all. Some of the cars were even parked with no driver. I was so frustrated because I lost the 20 min, I saved earlier It is time YUL administration to put the traffic in order. This chaos should stop. 1

SameGuy
Most of the waiting cars, especially those unattended, are gypsy cabs and Ubers, trying to snag travelers out of the queues (or before they even reach them). 1
DJJB
There should be a dedicated ride-share area, like a lot of other airports do. Security in the pick-up / drop-off areas is a mess indeed. Spotted a Home Depot rental van with Hassidic people picking up other community members...... in the area for the parking-lot shuttles. As long as security allows people to get away with anything, they will. 1
internationalx
Just flew to LAX last night out of YUL at peak time arriving at the airport around 3:30PM. What a mess to even get close to the terminal! And once you see the tiny 2-lane ramp it's pretty embarrassing. The two pedestrian cross-walks at ramp level are big part of the problem. They should be above the ramp (second floor of terminal) but until a new parking structure and enlarged ramp this will not be possible. In the interim, they should lose them completely and for the short/medium term, only have the cross-walks on the arrivals level at grade. Also, totally agree that a taxi, uber/lyft lot should be created with just a shuttle bus circling the terminal for passengers.
