SKYMTL
It will be certainly interesting to see how Air Canada reacts because as it stands right now none of the 737 MAX flights to / from YYZ or YUL have been cancelled. I also wonder if Air Canada planes that are overseas / in the USA will need to remain there.

If Sunwing grounded its fleet last night it's probably to prevent this kind of situation where an airplane is stuck in a foreign country for an extended period of time. If they did not know that the decision was forthcoming they were playing it safe.

Flo
This is another Diesel gate in the making. Corporate fat cats knew their AI machine was f-up, are presently hastily working on an updated version but too late... 338 dead in less than 6 months. Too bad 3rd world countries are the first to pay the price... when you think of the scores of airports who are vilely ignoring that dire situation 1
zombywoof
Rusty
Im wondering what will happen to the new BOD service out of YUL this summer.... ? highly advertised
SKYMTL
Just now, Rusty said: Im wondering what will happen to the new BOD service out of YUL this summer.... ? highly advertised I'm thinking this situation will be regulated in weeks rather than months. Boeing has lost nearly 20 billion of its value in the last week. The stock price dictates reactions and in this case I'm sure they're working on fast-tracking solutions. zombywoof
Rusty
that is if it is fixable that fast ? im thinking not if it is part of the technology and not mechanical

The bigger problem is that its 2 crashes on a plane that's only been in widespread service for less than 18 months. If that number gets extrapolated outwards with continued deliveries over several more years, the numbers are pretty staggering.
