hyperg
I'm checking out some older condos downtown and I'm seeing condo fees in the 6/700$ per month. Such as in these units. https://www.realtor.ca/real-estate/19516408/1-bedroom-condo-3940-ch-de-la-côte-des-neiges-c22-ville-marie-montréal-central-west https://www.realtor.ca/real-estate/20030305/1-bedroom-condo-1321-rue-sherbrooke-o-c1-ville-marie-montréal-golden-square-mile Why are the condo fees so insanely high ? Maintenance is expensive and things happen along the way that are unforeseen at inception. For example, in my buddy's building downtown, the syndicat voted in favour of implementing a 24-7 security guard in the lobby. Let's assume: 1) 100 units of the same size 2) 3 shifts x 8 hours x $25 per hour x 365 days per year That means each unit's condo fees increase by $182.50 per month. Ca monte vite. And that's a small change in my opinion.
