Not a lie. The CEO and the majority of the decision making power (VPs) etc are not Montreal based. This is not to say that they don't have a large employment base in Montreal. The HQ could be in Ghana with 1,000 employees there, the importance is where the centre of power/decision making is situated.

Not really, first of all only the CEO is in Toronto for now. Most VPs are in Montreal or London (previously all of upper management was in London, but this will probably change now that Aimia doesn't have a big operation out of the UK).

And to be fair, the CEO stays in Montreal 3 days a week (Aimia owns 2 condos in Altoria, directly above their offices)

Wait a second here.... the CEO of Couche Tard lives in Columbus, OH, but has a satellite condo in Montreal.

Folks, you heard it here first, Couche Tard is an Ohio based Company... ?

It's worse than Columbus, OH... it's Columbus, Indiana... even smaller and boring than the first one :P, I've been there before at Circle K head office... It looks like a converted warehouse without windows...

Everyone knows that non Quebecer would do all they could to avoid becoming Canadian Citizen and avoid the high taxes. So they manage to be more than 180 days outside of Qc or Canada and they are not required to pay those taxes (as Non Canadian Citizen). I think this is the reason behind the Couche Tard CEO, several hockey players and other High Profile Executives. This is not something new. That being said, it does not prevent them to be here when needed. It is hard to link their official citizenship to decision making of the company they work for in this context.

So what happens now with their deals with Air Transat, etc?

C'était une entente de principe, il n'y avait pas d'obligation contractuelle. De plus, Aimia peut toujours gérer un système de points pour Air Transat. Ce ne serait juste pas Aéroplan.
