Thank you thenoflyzone for the link to the Air Canada 4Q17 results. The message about YUL is consistent with the growth proposal reinforced in 2015, and encouraging:

Page 12, "Air Canada is…  developing Montreal into a complementary trans-Atlantic hub… The airline’s Montreal hub not only links North America with key markets in France, but also positions Montreal as a premier gateway to the Atlantic. Given the improvements that are being made in Toronto, Vancouver and Montreal, the airline is able to build its network from the U.S. to provide increased connection flows to its international flights.”

Me thinks that additional transatlantic fights are in the works for YUL, then.

MAD? CPH? BOD? TLS?

If we refer back to the 2015 forecast for city pair opportunities in place before or during 2018, I think that Dakar and Beirut are the only two from Montreal that have yet to be started up. Perhaps Beirut will never happen. However everything else has been delivered according to plan. As others have stated, the AC international growth curve will start flattening out about now, though we now have Montreal-Tokyo beginning in June, and it wasn't shown in the 2015 presentation, and these 4 A330s would seem to offer additional growth possibilities. I remain impressed with AC.
