Well some big announcement will be coming down the pipes in the near future. Apparently Mayrand foods on the Metropolitan is moving to much bigger digs on Louis H. Lafontaine. I have it from good sources that the entire area that is covered by Mayrand and that hideous building with all the discount outlets and United Gym will be razed to make way for a mega development of condo towers and other office buildings. It is going to add to the satelite town center in the east that will also give the area a much needed facelift. So look out for some news within the next 6 months or so!!! Of course things can change with the economic scernario in the blink of an eye, so don't hold my feet to the fire on this one.

Un tel projet rendrait beaucoup plus intéressant le prolongement de la ligne Bleue vers Anjou (et inversement, serait lui aussi beaucoup plus intéressant pour les développeurs et les acheteurs avec un prolongement de la ligne Bleue).

I love Mayrand, I hope they don't move to far away from their current location.

 

It will diffidently add some nice development to the area. United Gym is closing soon someone told me, moving to Place Viau last I heard.

Logiquement, s'il y a une annonce, ça sera pour annoncer que l'on prolonge (la ligne bleue), car je ne vois pas pourquoi on sortirait tambours et trompettes pour annoncer une mauvaise nouvelle. J'ajouterais que l'information en provenance de MARTY ce matin serait consistante avec celle-ci.

 

Restera à voir dans quel ordre de priorités s'inscrirait ce projet, car il y en a bien d'autres qui ont reçu une attention médiatique intense, dont le SLR sur le futur pont Champlain et le SLR ouest.

Peut être pas une garantie à 100% de prolongement mais j'ai des amis architectes qui ont travaillé activement aux plans des futures stations cet été et probablement à l'automne aussi. En espérant que ça se concrétise...

Il faudra bien y arriver un jour... à mon avis le prolongement du métro sur l'ile contribuerait à la densification urbaine, la meilleure réponse à l'étalement.

Sur le site de Mayrand, il est écrit qu'ils déménagent au 9701 boul. Louis H.-La Fontaine en fin février 2016.
