Zero chance. Alitalia has been blocked to Montreal by the Air France/Delta Joint-Venture. THe only North America destination they are now considering is San Francisco.

Alitalia announced it will not renew its partnership and joint venture agreements with Air France-KLM in 2017.

 

Maybe under Etihad Airways some real changes will happen.
