STM : Accordian Buses

The only other Canadian city I know of that uses the Accordian Buses is Vancouver and they started that back in 2002.

 

Halifax has been using articulated buses for a decade now. They are old school buses, we don't have any low-floor articulated. Ottawa has many low-floor articulated buses on the transit way.

 

Are these the first accordion buses in Montreal? If so that surprises me because Park Avenue is apparently one of the busiest bus routes in the country.

Once you've had tramways, you can never go back to busses.

 

Accordeon buses hold more people than a non-articulated one, but they hold far less people than a tramway can, and the ride is the same bumpy and slow one that other busses are also infamous for.

 

Old tech that is appropriate for certain lines nonetheless.

However for the time being I dont think Trams will be put on lines such as Cote des neiges and Parc. These routes are not properly served with regular buses, so the stretch buses should be a nice improvement.
