Also, if ADM had done 06L-24R it in one shot, then your complaint about yesterday's single runway ops would have been of a far greater magnitude. Just sayin'. Adhering to a project's timeline, when said project was badly thought-out, doesn't make it a success. ADM should have kept 10/28 open, until both of 24R and 24L were fully resurfaced. This way, we would have had 2 usable runways at all times, and each parallel runway could have closed completely for a 4-6 month period, for a proper resurfacing. You know, doing the job once, but doing it right ! They've been working on 24R since 2018 for Christ's sake ! 10 hours ago, mont royal said: No need to turn your very legitimate criticisms into stereotypical Quebec bashing! Quebec and bad construction projects are a fact of life. No stereotypes here. I was born and raised in Montreal. I've only seen 1 good construction project in this city. The Champlain Bridge, and it was good because it was handled by the federal government. 2 4 Citer Lien vers le commentaire Partager sur d’autres sites

Timothy Posté(e) 13 août 2022 Partager Posté(e) 13 août 2022 thenoflyzone, I hear your frustration, but I’m going to point out that if ADM had kept 10/28 active in order to completely shut one of the 24s for 6 months of focused rehab through a summer season, then either of the two remaining open runways could just as easily have been shut for emergency repairs during peak summer ops, as 24R was this week, leading to similar ground delays. I truly don’t think you can compare this to our usual Quebec construction circus. 1 Citer Lien vers le commentaire Partager sur d’autres sites

But we are talking about a different subject entirely. Yes, the federal government f***ed up the handling of the passports. This being said, I applied for my son's passport last March and received it in June, more or less within the timelines they had on their website. It's worth noting as well, that people didn't help the situation by applying for a passport way too late, or by booking fake travel plans in order to get their passport right away, delaying the process even more for those of us following the rules. https://www.cbc.ca/news/canada/passport-waits-delays-line-standers-fake-travel-gaming-travel-doc-system-1.6550262 On 2022-08-13 at 4:02 PM, Timothy said: thenoflyzone, I hear your frustration, but I’m going to point out that if ADM had kept 10/28 active in order to completely shut one of the 24s for 6 months of focused rehab through a summer season, then either of the two remaining open runways could just as easily have been shut for emergency repairs during peak summer ops, as 24R was this week, leading to similar ground delays. Same for 24L. And therefore, the need for emergency repair work was far less back then. Look, we can sit and argue about this all day long. Let's agree to disagree. I think the entire project of resurfacing 24R was poorly planned out, and even moreso poorly executed. Nothing you say will change that in my book. Both out of YUL and YYZ. Disappointing to see some capacity cuts (although some offsetting gains)... economic conditions will be interesting over the coming year to say the least.
