jesseps
i have no idea why i thought of this. you know those armoured car dudes, with all the money. it is interesting how they can carry guns to try and protect themselves and the money. yet normal fucking citizens can't really own a gun for self defense in this country, what gives. i guess money in this country is more valued then human life. Harper get your head out of you ass and change the god damn laws! jesseps
you want canada to turn like america where everyone carries a gun... :applause: not really, we should have the right to protect ourself though (inside our own homes) seeing the justice system is slack imo. if i was ever to become a parent, which will not happen. if some person broke in my house, and wanted to try and cause harm of some sort to my family, i would rather have the fucker die, then get a slap on the wrist with our system here. actually use of mace, or a taser. other then a gun. sorry for all the lower cases. MTLskyline
Damn, nice to see you're turning into a conservative, Jesseps. We are certainly outnumbered in Montreal! Anyways, I'd be for private gun ownership if they were selective as to who gets to own guns. People should learn how to safely use and take care of a gun, much like driving courses, etc. They would have to pass a few tests to own a gun: 1. Psychological exam (don't want lunatics!) 2. Eye exam (don't want crooked shots!) 3. Theory exam (know how it works, situations when and when not to use a gun, etc.) They would have to retake those exams every 5 years. If as little as one incident occurs due to a civilian's gun ownership, automatic jail time would occur and they would be barred from future gun ownership. I have liberal and conservative views on things I would probably vote Conservative, seeing the Liberals can not do anything right anymore and NDP, they need to sack Layton. Habsfan
I'm gonna have to agree with Ornello on this one. When will conservatives realise that the fewer guns we have lying around (in our homes, in our cars, in our offices) the fewer deaths we will have because of gun violence. IT'S A PROVEN FACT THAT CANADA HAS LESS GUNS PER CAPITA, AND WE HAVE LESS GUN VIOLENCE.(compared to the USA) You can take all the fvcking training in the world to shoot and carry a gun, but If your 7 year old child gets his hands on the gun while you are looking away and ends up blowing his brains out.... i will not have any pity for you. People who have guns in their homes(where there are children) should be locked up! There is ABSOLUTELY NO REASON for a city dweller to have a gun. If you are an Inuit and you live off the caribou and the seals(hunting), then I can understand. But 80%+ Canadians and Americans live in major cities, where having a gun is completely useless. Get rid of guns in our sopciety and you'll see the amount of OVERALL violence will go down. It takes a very determined person to stab somebody with a knife. You have to get close to the person, you have to get blood on your hands. And in most cases, you have to stab a person multiple times to kill that person. Not many people can handle that kind of "up Close and Personal" DEATH! A gun on the other hand is very impersonal and cold. You can be far away, and more often than not, a single shot is all that it requires to KILL. Not to mention the number of times a gun can go off accidentally. I still don't understand how there can be people in our society(in Québec) that would argue in favor of guns. I thought we were more sophisticated and refined compared to our southern neighbors.
