  1. Bonjour a tous, I would like to know how 'easy' it is to do (arrondissement is ville-Marie). I called the city but they didn't give me much info. They sent me a guide but the guide simply states that 'at least 50% of occupants need to ask for it', but not much else. There must be more to it. FYI I'm not the one making the conversion. I am looking at a property that is Indivise and the promoter is 'assuring' me conversion will occur but I don't want to take his word for it. Was wondering if anyone here had experiences with this. merci

  3. The wheels are (litterally) falling off the cart. Well handled by the crew. Don't know how this managed to escape the media, but when AC so much as mis-pronounces a word in french, or someone gets a whiff of mouth wash, it's front page news.

Chef David Aghapekian, late of Plateau craft brewpub Le Réservoir, is about to give Downtown Montreal Boucherie Dans La Côte, a butcher shop with prepared foods and complementary sandwich counter. The makeover of the old La Congolaise at 2123 de Bleury, below Sherbrooke, is almost complete. A source close to Aghapekian tells Eater that the chef spent a month in search of quality, small-scale producers througout Quebec. No word yet on whether Aghapekian's significant other, Chloé Germain-Fredette of Les Chocolats de Chloé fame, will get some counter space.   5. Big Conference in Town Thu, 2007-07-26 15:30. Shuyee Lee 3700 conventioneers are descending on Montreal starting tomorrow for a four day meeting. And they'll be bringing their expense accounts with them - good news for the local economy. Volunteers wearing bright red polo shirts around the city will be welcoming delegates of the MPI - Meeting Professionals International - people who plan conventions, seminars and business meetings. It's the biggest MPI convention ever held, with 3700 delegates from around the world, generating as much as 100-million dollars in short and mid-term economic spinoffs if all goes well. Charles Lapointe head of Tourism Montreal says word of mouth can spread. "Oh, I had a good meeting in Montreal, maybe I should bring my group to that city because my delegates will like it." Lapointe is not too worried about the soaring loonie affecting business, saying the overall drop in U.S. tourists is only about 5 per cent and that's across the country.
