Almost 80,000 jobs lost in February: StatsCan By The Canadian Press OTTAWA - Non-farm payrolls lost 79,600 jobs in February, with manufacturing taking the worst hit, Statistics Canada reported Wednesday. The agency said those losses continue a slump that began last October and which has cost 296,000 jobs. The agency's survey of non-farm, payroll employment found the biggest February drop was in manufacturing, where 19,300 jobs were lost. Since October, 99,700 manufacturing jobs have disappeared, a loss of 6.1 per cent. That figure is three times the rate of decline of total payroll
  4. Hi, I have been reading SSP for about 5 years now and most recently, I have joined MTLURB so I could read that too, so I am quite familiar with all the projects. My question is this: Does anybody know what the two giant metal semi-circles in front of the Telus Tower are and why they move? Sometimes they're down, sometimes one is up, or the other...   6. J'ai eu le grand plaisir de dejeuner avec quelqu'un tres proche de la scene hoteliere a Montreal. Il m'a appliquer que debut 2013 rien ne va plus et que plusieurs petit/moyen foire (conventions) ont decider de demanger a d'autre ville a cause de la perception de probleme sociale au Quebec. Anyway pas ici pour faire la politique (meme que je souhaite des elections demain!), but apparently a few hotels are considering closing doors as they are no longer profitable.
