  1. For Rent Reason I know why it was his place (not sure if he rented or bought it), he used to be my neighbour. I just wish I still had the pictures of Sophie Durocher place seeing she was my neighbour also.
  2. For some reason yesterday I was thinking about what if PVM was one or two buildings it would be one of the tallest buildings on the planet, if the city did not have height restrictions. Seeing PVM is like 4 towers + the middle connecting everything together, just to make one. Each tower has 46 floors (188 meters). It would be like 230 floors (with the middle part connecting everything). If it was like 1 tower it be 940 meters. It would be bigger than both: Petronas Tower put together (though it would still have about 1/2 the amount of sq.ft). If it was two towers each one would be like
  3. I will post pics when I get more of them. Leaving in about 30 hours for almost 3 weeks Only reason I have this thread open so I have some sort of foundation.
  4. For the past few weeks, my family been trying to figure out why the garage door for my mom wouldn't open. We end up getting technicians to come and check it out twice and even with a special detector to see what frequency could be blocking it. Some reason my dad wakes up today, thinking the garage door opener on the wrong way, guess what it was. The people who were fixing stuff in the garage put it the wrong way! :egads: The joke is on us for not figuring that one out sooner. --- My dad sent me downtown to get a parcel. Seeing we use to live in the city and some reason they never s
  5. Only reason I am asking, you get dinged 31% if you take out over $15000 and you get dinged again because the Canadian / Quebec government consider it income. So honestly, what is the use to have something like this, if you are just going be penalized for saving money. $15000 turns into $10350 which turns into $9016.75 At least the TFSA you don't get taxed but there is a limit on how much you can put in. If you haven't put in any money since they started in 2009, you deposit $15,000 and whatever you make from it is tax free
  6. Bonjour a tous, Taking a quick Super Bowl break to post something I've wanted to share with you for a few days. Henry Aubin wrote in The Gazette what was presented as an article on the construction of "tall" new rental buildings downtown and questioning the wisdom of allowing this. I personally believe he's a little all over the place in his article and doesn't quite make a coherent argument. I think in the end what annoys me is that the how tall should we build question seems, for some reason, to often be present in this city. Anyhow here's the link you guys judge for yourse
  7. For whatever reason I ended up in Brasil via Google Earth Check out the ring road of Feira de Santana: http://maps.google.com/maps?f=q&source=s_q&hl=en&geocode=&q=feira+de+santana+BR&sll=-12.255805,-38.943357&sspn=0.064416,0.132093&ie=UTF8&hq=&hnear=Feira+de+Santana+-+Bahia,+Brazil&ll=-12.260251,-38.958721&spn=0.064415,0.132093&t=h&z=14 It carries part of BR-116 a major Brazilian highway... it is literally a perfect circle Also note the extremely weird half-cloverleaf + U-turn interchange where BR-116 leaves the ring.
  8. Honestly the reflective paint they use/do not use for the road, to divide the lanes suck especially at night and when its raining. I ended up driving on lakeshore all the way downtown, crap it looked like one huge lane LOL. I have no clue how LKA (lane keep assist) going to work in these shitty conditions. :stirthepot: Reason I took the scenic route, seeing I haven't driven on the highway in a good 5-6 years. Plus I only drive every 6 months. I dislike driving, seeing there is so many damn maniacs on the road. Thats my rant for this beautiful saturday morning.
  9. Check this out Microsoft Silverlight required If you never been to Budapest, you should really check it out. I've been 3 times. Its such a wonderful city. Its one of my favourite cities in all of Europe (East and West). The photo was taken on the Buda side. Only reason I remember its the Buda side, seeing the hills. Remind me of Buddha's large stomach.
  10. Anyone know or in the web design industry? Reason I am asking,my friend went with someone and they haven't done any work and she needs a website done by the weekend for something. Hope someone can help me, help her. Thanks.
  11. Check out the last 20 seconds of this video! If we had taller buildings in Montreal, we could do the same thing...eventually! http://watch.tsn.ca/nhl/clip311751#clip311813
  12. I like cars. Cars are cool. I would drive a car if I didn't like walking so much. But I wonder why is it so difficult for Montreal drivers to understand this: Right: Wrong: It's really annoying when I am carrying something like a large suitcase. It also sucks for people on wheelchairs. Why is nothing done about this? I would tell them myself not to do this but I've been told people tend to be angrier in average when they are behind the wheel. Lonely Planet warns travelers that "crosswalks are rarely respected" here. Is there some kind of historical reason for this
