  1. The Canadian government is changing the rules on foreign ownership of airlines in Canada. They can now own up to 49% of an airline up from 25%. So it is a possibility that Porter will be bought. The other new small discount players could also be bought and give more access to Canadians. Also I saw a few days ago that Southwest Airlines is looking to fly into Canada in the future. Time will tell how things turn out. It would be nice to have a carrier similar to Ryanair operate within Canada.
  2. Sortez une bière et regardez moi ça!!  (cliques vimeo pour aller en HD) <object width="800" height="450"><param name="allowfullscreen" value="true" /><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always" /><param name="movie" value="http://vimeo.com/moogaloop.swf?clip_id=4038064&server=vimeo.com&show_title=1&show_byline=1&show_portrait=0&color=00ADEF&fullscreen=1" /><embed src="http://vimeo.com/moogaloop.swf?clip_id=4038064&server=vimeo.com&show_title=1&show_byline=1&show_portrait=0&color=00ADEF&fullscreen=1" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowfullscreen="true" allowscriptaccess="always" width="800" height="450"></embed></object><p><a href="http://vimeo.com/4038064'>http://vimeo.com/4038064">Timescapes Timelapse: Learning to Fly</a> from <a href="http://vimeo.com/timescapes'>http://vimeo.com/timescapes">Tom @ Timescapes</a> on <a href="http://vimeo.com">Vimeo</a>.</p>
  3. I just noticed that Westjet doesn't fly to Newark or LGA or JFK. Yet they fly to other parts of the US and the Caribbean. I find that weird. Anyways I saw this ad for Porter. Montreal to NY via Toronto, round trip is like $340 (with taxes and fees). Yet with Air Canada its like $540 (with taxes and fees) but thing is its direct. I wonder if Westjet will ever offer flights to Newark. Anyways, has anyone ever tried Porter?
  4. All economy seats. If you were ever looking for a credit card with travel rewards and had no idea where to start. The CIBC/TD Aeroplan may be for you, the only issue is that you have to pay taxes for that flight, while with the RBC Avion and BMO World Elite (the points you have covers everything). You probably could get better flights with BMO World Elite Mastercard if you prefer not to fly with Air Canada or Star Alliance members, so the results above may differ.
  5. I saw this fly over Montreal yesterday afternoon, I was in awe! Sorry for no actual photo from yesterday it's not every day you see a surveillance plane over the city
  6. KLM is going to use the A330-200 to YUL next summer. it will have a special configuration with only 18 business class seats (high density version). Incredible to think that Lufthansa and KLM fly 18 business class seat airplanes to Montreal from their prime hubs. Further confirmation that we are desirable volume market, but with poor business class demand which is ultimately the driver of profitability.
