  10. According to Qatar airlines today, they plan on adding additional routes to Montreal next summer. They will be using the 777-300ER with 358 seats. Currently they have 3 flights a week. Does anyone know how many additional flights they will add?
  11. (Courtesy of The Wall Street Jorunal) Hmm... this seems interesting. One of the only reasons I put it in this section seeing Air Canada code shares with Lufthansa so it could be good for some of us who want to try and travel to US for cheaper. Plus I also read that Virgin Atlantic trying to join the Alliance also

  13. I just noticed that Westjet doesn't fly to Newark or LGA or JFK. Yet they fly to other parts of the US and the Caribbean. I find that weird. Anyways I saw this ad for Porter. Montreal to NY via Toronto, round trip is like $340 (with taxes and fees). Yet with Air Canada its like $540 (with taxes and fees) but thing is its direct. I wonder if Westjet will ever offer flights to Newark. Anyways, has anyone ever tried Porter?

  15. (Courtesy of Bloomberg) After I read this, I was thinking what if... Southwest (US) [535 planes] Jetblue (US) [141+ planes] Westjet (CAN) [75+ planes] Zoom (CAN) [5 planes] Air Transat (CAN) [17 planes] Air Berlin (DEU) [126+ planes] This would be an interesting alliance seeing Air Berlin and Zoom fly from Canada to certain spots in Europe. Plus all these small airlines, with low-fares might be something N.A needs, but I could be wrong, seeing I am no economist.
  16. All economy seats. If you were ever looking for a credit card with travel rewards and had no idea where to start. The CIBC/TD Aeroplan may be for you, the only issue is that you have to pay taxes for that flight, while with the RBC Avion and BMO World Elite (the points you have covers everything). You probably could get better flights with BMO World Elite Mastercard if you prefer not to fly with Air Canada or Star Alliance members, so the results above may differ.

  19. We've heard alot about Asia recently, but what about India. There's no question the Indian sub-continent is a HUGE market, and one that is growing rapidly. We've seen big success' in the YYZ-DEL, YVR-DEL and now YYZ-BOM flights....so.... A question for those in the know....How long (2, 5, 10 years...) until YUL will see a service to India from AI, AC or another carrier.

  24. not uncommon to other cities in North America, during the 1st quarter KLM will be reducing Montreal to 5 weekly. For as long as i've been alive, KLM has always had a daily flight to YUL 52 weeks a year. In addition the second daily service from Air France will be reduced to 4 weekly from daily. British Airways also will only operate 6 weekly flights to Montreal in the winter. Lufthansa is reducing the Montreal-Munich to 4 weekly as well.
