I thought this one was going to be extremely ugly. But it actually is turning out to be better than I expected. It looks better than any of its neighbours.. Maybe it will look a lot worse in 40 years when it is dirtier.. who knows.

Somewhat! The area has a more youthful vibe than many other neighbourhoods. I would say it's a mix of students and young professionals mostly! Lots of activity most of the day

I feel like I've died and gone to Tolyatti.

The skyline really looks out of balance... Like we have this one giant fat behemoth, and everything else is both the same height or shorter and slimmer... Really looks weird. This one building is really going to dominate our skyline from a lot of angles.

Wow, they're even climbing into the construction site and putting graffiti in there! I would think the construction site shouldn't be so easy to break into.. I imagine the owner would be liable if someone got injured..

This building is way too wide... Going to really make the skyline look stumpy

That Concordia Fine Arts building is really looking out of place. It would be a great spot for a 200m building!

Check the Google Reviews.. Seems like it is still inhabited..... "I get a notice around March stating that balcony repairs will take place on the entire building between March and June 30th. That is happening during a pandemic and a curfew where people are required to work remotely. Besides the psychological pain from the construction from 8 in the morning, there is no way you can carry out your job and have meetings/ Then, they never finished by June 30th as promised and when I asked the administration, they told me that they should finish supposedly by September. When I told them about their notice, they said that was only for one side of the building although the notice CLEARLY stated it was the ENTIRE building. Yes, they used the word "entire" in the notice which is a big word in this context."

This looks like one of those bleak tower blocks that are common in the banlieues of Paris or Brussels...

La nouvelle place publique est un peu un retour à la forme originale de la place initialement basée sur le design de Henry Cobb et IM Pei. Je pense que c'est une bonne chose qu'ils l'ont restauré dans son état d'origine, c'est plus fidèle à la vision des architectes. En fait, je me souviens avoir lu quelque chose dans lequel IM Pei a mentionné qu'il était dérangé par la façon dont la place était couverte de gazon et de skylights ajoutées dans les années 1980. It's also nice to see that neither Victoria-sur-le-Parc or the National Bank tower will block the view of the Tour de la Bourse from this angle. Instead they will fill in the gap and block the unsightly Evo residence.

Je vais l'avoir. Mais je peux voir émerger une société à deux vitesses. Un pour les vaccinés: vols, restaurants, événements sont tous ouverts. Et un pour les non vaccinés qui pourraient être plus restreints. Ce ne sera cependant pas obligatoire. Je ne sais pas quelles en sont les implications de cela. Et je pense que les masques en public sont là pour rester. Je me demande en fait si cela pourrait être quelque chose de permanent, en particulier à l'intérieur pendant la saison de la grippe ainsi que sur les vols et les transports publics.

It's not bad compared to 20 years ago when they weren't building anything around there. Maybe we'll see taller buildings if this trend continues. The Tim Hortons would be perfect for a 30-40 storey building

Le Saint-Francois had a bit of a Barcelona look to it with the way the part facing the intersection was set back a bit.

It is OK. I find it a bit too massive with the same façade continuing for too much distance. I would have preferred that this be divided into at least 2 projects. And to be honest, I find it a bit tall.. It dwarfs the historic buildings around it somewhat.. Maybe varying heights would have worked better? Additionally, I would prefer more of a normal pattern of windows, and less "random". Having said that, this would go well in a lot of locations. If the Palais de Justice could be moved, a project like this would be much more harmonious with the area..

This building has a real "Berlin" or "Rotterdam" look to it.

Qu'est ce que tu utilises? Avez-vous des recommandations? J'ai un vieux Nikon D3100 avec un objectif 18-55 mm et un 35 mm f / 1.8. Le 35 mm en particulier est génial. Mais les reflex numériques sont assez gros et encombrants. J'ai aussi un Canon Powershot G7X Mark II (qui est "ok") et un Pixel 2 XL. Aujourd'hui, 90% de mes photos sont avec mon Pixel. Il a des images de bonne qualité, mais il lui manque un objectif grand angle. L'année prochaine, je vais changer de téléphone, alors je réfléchis à la meilleure option. . Mais assez sur moi... qu'est-ce que tout le monde utilise? Qui cherche un nouveau téléphone ou appareil photo?

Bon débarras de ces bâtiments sur René-Lévesque!

Honnêtement, je pense que cette partie de l'avenue du Parc devrait être densifiée de plus de 4 étages. La rue est large, il y a de grands immeubles à proximité (La Cité, sur Bleury, sur Sherbrooke). Et c'est un quartier en perpétuelle forte demande qui est bien desservi par les épiceries, les pharmacies, etc. Je ne parle pas de changer le reste du quartier, mais je pense qu'une exception pourrait être faite pour l'avenue du Parc, en particulier lorsqu'un bâtiment brûle jusqu'au sol et doit être remplacé.
