  1. The smooth surfaces outside the tower are analogous to the transition from mediocrity to luxury one will have when moving into this building.
  2. It won't be pretty but having the garage open on rue des Bassins would be a nightmare. That street is always a logjam of double parked cars.
  3. This project is taking forever to complete. The 7 top floors are still missing some windows. I wonder if they'll install the windows before the cold sets in.
  4. The eyesore is one step closer to being removed. The demolition permit was posted today.
  5. I live in the area that qualified me to vote on this referendum and am a long-time lurker on these forums. The only information shared with residents was a voter registration card and a somewhat confusing question. I think there should have been better sharing of information related to what a "No" or a "Yes" vote represented. A "Yes" vote meant a 7 or 8 story building, with a daycare, office space and room for one store. Whereas the "No" vote meant reverting to the plans for a 5 story hotel? The landowner really failed in communicating his message to the community if even I have no idea what I was voting on. How would the regular non-mtlurb lurking resident be able to vote?
  6. The properties are now up for sale for $7.5 million each. 287-289 Rue Eleanor 311 Rue Eleanor
  7. The hotel idea has been cancelled due to strong opposition during the public consultation period. The project has turned into a residential + commercial project and the daycare remains. Here is a video summary. And a pdf version of the summary.
  8. Work on the courtyard is well underway.
  9. I bet those two people don't even live in Griffintown either!
  10. And soon there'll be another crane for Arbora Phase 3!
