  1. There can never be one thread about new service to Montreal without you having to repeat yourself over and over again. So what Tunis isn't a major business capital? Be happy YUL is still attractive enough for airlines to want to start service here, no matter where they're from or what service they offer. Montreal may need flights to places like Tokyo, Sao Paolo and Madrid, but until that happens, be grateful for what you have. Haven't you ever been told; if you don't have something nice to say don't say anything at all?
  2. Wow! Seeing YUL-FCO get de-rouged is surprising. I guess they got an unexpected amount of premium demand to go to a mainline A333. Nonetheless an interesting development, along with the 77W from YYZ. Although they are over by 2 for A333 usage, it's inevitable some routes will transition to 788/9 for summer 2016 as we have seen already, and not forgetting about the 2 new 77Ws arriving next year which allows for more flexibility. I'm still wondering what will be the first long-haul AC 787 route from YUL will be... Perhaps BRU?
  3. What does BA having 4 daily flights to Boston and Air France having higher yields in Boston have to do with WOW Air starting flights to YUL? Sure increased competition and such low fares will drive yields for carriers even lower than they already are but IMO it's still nice to see new service being launched here. I don't know the numbers but I'd be honestly surprised if a small ULCC like WOW is able to drive out big players like Lufthansa or British Airways from the Montreal market. Going up against dirt cheap fares or not, some people will still pay for higher quality service. Nonetheless 2016 is shaping up to be an interesting year for consumers (myself included) with an imminent fare war across the Atlantic.
  4. Unconfirmed in essence but SkyGreece Airlines to operate Athens-Montreal from May 24th, 2015 with 1 flight a week. YYZ on the other hand will see 3 flights a week from Athens and 1 per week from Thessaloniki. I don't know how they're going to manage this with 1 767 but we'll see.
  5. TUNISAIR has proposed it's schedule for YUL for October 2015, with a surprising aircraft choice. It will probably be only temporary until they receive their A330s this year. Based on latest update from OAG Schedules Analyser, Tunisair has filed operational schedule for Tunis – Montreal route. The airline intends to operate 2 weekly flights, although aircraft info is listed as “AB6″, Airbus A300-600R aircraft. Proposed schedule as follow. TU888 TUN0940 – 1430YUL AB6 36 TU889 YUL1630 – 0610+1TUN AB6 36 A quick turnaround time compared to most other transatlantic flights we get. Glad to see another airline in Montreal this year! http://airlineroute.net/2015/01/28/tu-yul-oct15/
