I heard from someone who attended the meeting last night that they are waiting for approval from Westmount to demolish the remaining building. (A very small part of that building is in Westmount.)

The two heritage buildings are protected by the City as "properties of significant value," a point stressed by Coderre at the last borough council meeting. -
Apparently street parking was forbidden in Westmount, so many garages went up in this area. As the market for cars grew, the buildings were easily converted into car dealerships.
