  1. Nicer weather today! Concordia should really clean their windows though..
  2. Looks like they're planning on developing many of the remaining parking lots, which is great. However, the renders only display mid-rise buildings. Not that developers are knocking down doors at city hall asking to build 200+ meter towers in Montreal, but should the opportunity ever come up in the future, there won't be any lots left!
  3. I'm hoping this project is dead - bad architecture & inefficient use of a prime location. Their sales office is still there, but they've been closed for a couple months now. A bit surprising since these units were somewhat affordable considering the area.
  4. I'm alright with this project. Only concern is about this stretch of de Maisonneuve near Vendome is that it's a major pedestrian & cyclist zone - especially during the summer. I hope the city takes this into consideration & implements proper traffic planning before giving approval - this project will surely bring even more cars/trucks to already heavily congested area.
  5. Fascinating! Thanks for sharing I'll never understand why people thought covering up buildings was a good idea. The 'modern' look it's supposed to give is just tacky.
  6. You can tell from the picture that at one point, they put in cement blocks to cover up windows - presumably right before installing the metal siding. I'd love to see a pic before this was done!
  7. Wow!! Anyone know what this building originally was ? Before the awful metal siding was put on while Omer Deserres occupied the structure ?
  8. I will remain sceptical about this project right up until the crane has been installed.
  9. Looking at +300k (tax included) for a 2-bedroom unit here - no surprises. They have a few decently-priced 1 bedroom units. Condo fees are estimated at $0.5/square foot, which includes hydro & heat. The major downside of project IMO is that they're not selling parking spaces ($$$ / month) & offering long-term rentals instead. As a car owner, this doesn't make me feel too comfortable - I wouldn't want my parking spot revoked! Units will be ready starting this summer - so I'm not sure why this project is still marked as a 'proposal'
  10. You could be right! However, I remember something specific about that site. The city released a planning document entitled 'Quartier des Grands Jardins' (not sure who came up with this one). Anyways, if you look at page 45 of the document, you can see a rendering of future developments in the area. http://ville.montreal.qc.ca/pls/portal/docs/page/plan_urbanisme_fr/media/documents/PPU_Quartier_Grands_Jardins.pdf
  11. Not much info on this one - saw a sign posted today at 2204 Sainte-Catherine West, right opposite of the now completed Seville project. The sign said something along the lines of stay tuned - new project on the way. Will try and get more info tomorrow!
  12. nice video, but changes little in terms of Montreal's Chinatown (read Chinastreet). They should expand commercial activity in the surrounding streets for the neighbourhood to grow a little. Métro Place d'Armes / Quartier Chinois has a nice ring to it as well.
  13. From Marvin Rotrand's twitter account (@marvinrotrand): Good news. Starting June 3 new direct international flights from Montreal on Copa and Turkish Airlines. #qcpoli #cmmtl
  14. I'm not too concerned about the design of this one..either of the renderings are fine by me. Those waiting for a 40+ storey tower here would have waited forever - I'm happy that a huge parking lot will finally get filled. They are getting fewer and fewer these days
  15. their website says 55% sold - shouldn't that be sufficient to begin construction ?
  16. looks like they are re-branding this project. new posters were going up last week for 'la catherine' - maybe the promoters saw this site & comments on how tacky 'la 4ine' sounded. regardless, i'm curious about their prices!
  17. meh - decent infill project. I hope they build something a bit more significant with the remainder of the parking lot.
  18. I checked this place out as well. looking at ~275 000$ tax included for a 650 sq. foot 2-bedroom condo. not awful considering the area. They really get you with the parking spot though - $55 000 + tax!! However, I don't think that will stop this project from going forward.
  19. where did you take that picture from ? as far as I know there isn't much on the opposite side of sherbrooke! unless your camera has an insane zoom lens?!
