There was a time freeze from 1994-2014. To be honest I feel a certain nostalgia for that Detroit-version of Montreal. You really felt like the city belonged to you. It wasn't always clogged with traffic like now and was populated with magical sin-city like characters. Most of them friendly. Montreal has definitely been washed of a lot of its grittiness.
