jesseps Posté(e) 11 juin 2009 Partager Posté(e) 11 juin 2009 There might be concerns about sagging tourism in Montreal but at least the city's official tourism website is on top of the cyber-world. Tourism Montreal's interactive, multimedia site won the prestigious Webby award in the tourism category. Each Webby winner's acceptance speech is limited to five words. Tourism Montreal went with: "Discover life a la Montreal." The awards were announced on Monday in New York City. Cutting edge The Tourism Montreal site plugs major spots around town with an embedded media player that blends music, flash graphics and lots of useful information. Dramatic, swooping computer-generated aerial shots of Montreal morph into interactive displays in English and French. The site was among 10,000 entries from over 60 countries participating in 100 categories. Will it help? The Webby was handed out amid reports that the absence of the Grand Prix has led to a drop in tourist traffic in Montreal this year. What's more, a poll released this week indicates that Quebec City was the top tourist destination among Quebecers while Montreal trailed way behind.
