MONTREAL, March 29 /CNW Telbec/ - Gérald Tremblay, Leader of Union

Montréal and Mayor of Montréal, announces the launch of a major People's Forum

in which he and his political party invite all Montrealers to participate.

Under the theme Union Montréal Is Listening!, this consultation will be

available online at http://www.unionmontreal.com, from March 29 to April 30.

"Everyday, we share views with our fellow Montrealers to build a greener,

stronger, more beautiful and more prosperous city. Through this major

consultation process, we seek to further enhance this dialogue to make sure we

always meet the current and future needs of our fellow citizens and ensure the

development of Montréal," said Gérald Tremblay, Leader of Union Montréal and

Mayor of Montréal.

 

Seven themes linked to Montrealers' daily lives

 

The online consultation allows Montrealers to identify their priorities

from among a series of practical proposals based on the following seven

themes: urban development, the environment, housing, transportation, sports

and leisure, culture, and neighborhood life.

During the past few months, working groups composed of grass-root members

and elected members of Union Montréal have participated in a consultation and

reflection process initiated by the political committee. The results of this

exercise provided the basis of the initiative being launched today.

"This unique initiative is a first for a Montréal-based municipal

political party. Union Montréal is facilitating the dialogue with Montrealers

through a simple, modern and user-friendly tool," commented Brenda Paris,

President of Union Montréal.

In the weeks to come, Union Montréal will roll out its radio and

web-based ad campaign inviting Montrealers to take a few minutes to

participate in its online People's Forum.

"This forum will allow Montrealers to share their priorities and tell us

what really matters to them. I hope many Montrealers will answer the call and

make this consultation their own, so that we may continue to build this city

together," concluded Tremblay.
