Logistically, these flights are a nightmare for aircraft utilization. Realistically, only AC would launch YUL-Brazil/Argentina, and right now, AC doesn't have any long haul frames left to spare to launch new routes. BOG is all we can hope for in South America at the moment.
Dallas72 Posté(e) 25 novembre 2018 Partager Posté(e) 25 novembre 2018 How effective is Avianca in BOG for effective connections in South America? Obviously, timing would be a big factor.
andre md Posté(e) 26 novembre 2018 Partager Posté(e) 26 novembre 2018 Bogota could work as we have a good columbian community in Montreal. But Buenos Aires i doubt it would be viable. Immigration is one of the keys to get international destination.

Obviously, timing would be a big factor. Pretty effective I`d say. BOG handled 31 million passengers last year. Avianca, along with its subsidiaries, have a huge network out of BOG to all the major and secondary South American cities. If BOG-YUL does happen, expect similar timings to the new BOG-BOS route Avianca launched in June 2017. Incidentally, that is a 4x weekly A319 service as well. http://www.avianca.com/pa/en/our-company/corporate-information/news-center/press-releases/boston-bogota-aviancas-new-route Early afternoon departure from BOG (well timed for inbound connections), late night arrival in YUL. Return flight departs again past midnight, for an early morning arrival in BOG, prime time for onward connections to other S. American cities. It would be nice to see the occasional A318. I think it would be the first time at YUL.
ERJ-Boy Posté(e) 29 novembre 2018 Partager Posté(e) 29 novembre 2018 I wonder if there would be a possibility for passengers to have onward connections from YUL on Air Canada like Europe or the northeast. Does AC and Avianca have a lot of codeshare?
