Vol Bogotá <> Montréal avec Avianca en 2019

Selon un membre colombien de Skyscrapercity, Avianca est en processus de demande d’approbation pour lancer un vol Bogotá <> Montréal en 2019.   4X / semaine.

J’aurais préféré mettre ce message dans “discussion générale”, mais il est impossible d’y ajouter de nouveaux messages.

Donc ça serait un 2e vol vers l’Amérique du Sud au départ de YUL.

Depending on when your season of travel is Transat has i believe 2 weekly flights in the winter.

Good news! How are we suppose to read the aircraft type? A different model Airbus on each flight or one (or more) of the four will fly the route? I presume the latter but If the first then it’ll be our first A318 service here. Kinda cool.

The route will most likely be an A319. It's the only one that has the capability and range to fly non stop from BOG to YUL, profitably.

BOG is at an altitude of 8,300 ft. An A320/A321 cant takeoff from there with any meaningful payload and fly non stop to YUL. The A318 can takeoff no problem, but with only 100 seats, isn't ideal. The A319, with 20 more seats, will bring in extra revenue for similar costs compared to the A318.

It's perfectly suited for BOG-YUL.

Thanks. Makes sense. BOG is really high up!  I hope this happens. Latin/South America should be our next breakthrough continent for route development.
