Air Canada S19 service changes

YVR-DUB at 4x weekly. YUL-DUB at 3x weekly.

The frame will rotate YVR-DUB-YUL-DUB-YVR

An attempt to oust Aer Lingus as quickly as possible? Seems like quite a hike in capacity knowing a new player is about to enter the market.

TI guess but that still is quite a hike in capacity. Perhaps the route is a big success for AC. I hope Aer Lingus has similar results too. The bigger A330 though could be a more appealing option for those who are regular fliers and aware of aircraft types. So it kinda works both as a solution for DUB to YVR/YUL and makes it s bit more difficult for EI

Are the additional A333s that AC is taking on meant to increase/upgrade existing routes or are they to be used for network expansion?

The route will go from 4x weekly 7M8 to 3x weekly A333. Not as big an increase as you think. 676 vs 876

I admit you’re right in the most direct sense. It’s like another 737 flight added to AC’s weekly YUL-DUB schedule. If though you consider Aer a Lingus coming in with a similar schedule of A321s plus the added AC seats with the A330s it probably going to amount to more than double the number of seat offerings than existed this past summer. That’s a lot to fill. Again the bigger plane will likely be a draw for the business passengers and those extra seats will make it slightly more difficult for Aer Lingus. It’ll be interesting to see how it all plays out. Grab your popcorn ?

I'm all for freeing up an 7M8 if it means getting more routes to those European cities in the 3,400 mi range like BOD. 

MAD, OSL, MAN are within that range. Just saying.

On a flight back today from HNL via SFO, I heard one of the flight attendants talking about a direct flight to HNL from another part of Canada. Lets see if that will true or not.

Air Canada in summer 2019 season is increasing Montreal – Tel Aviv service, during peak travel season. From 20JUN19 to 08SEP19, the airline will add 3rd weekly flight on this route, operated by A330-300 aircraft.
