FlyboyMTL Posté(e) 24 mars 2018 Partager Posté(e) 24 mars 2018 Hello, There is scheduled work starting end of March-2018 involving Rwy 24R/06L and its associated taxiways, B1, B3, B2, E. Wondering if anyone has the details on whats happening? Any timeline on the creation of a parallel to B taxiway? begratto Posté(e) 24 mars 2018 Partager Posté(e) 24 mars 2018 Donc tous les mouvements seront sur 24G/06D?
That's right. Runway 24R open for landers only (higher minimums on approach, due to ground crew near the runway), and takeoffs from Air Inuit/Air Transat/innotech hangars on P, T, Q taxiways. AC and other airlines have been advised to not ask for runway 24R on departure and try to use 24L as much as possible, so we don't have to backtrack on runway 24R, and therefore reduce the AAR (airport arrival rate). On 06 configuration, we are reversing the flow. So runway 06L for departures, 06R for all landers. Runway 10/28 is open but for runway 28 departures only. Since we are not losing runway 06L/24R per se, we will not be using rwy 28 all that much, unless ADM needs to close 06L/24R for some reason. Overall, it's still a shitty setup, but we are making it work. A few overshoots this week, since some landers on runway 06R are missing the A1, and need to go to A3, thus increasing their runway occupancy time. So the arrival behind them has to go around. No parallel taxiway to B just yet. Next year, same situation, but this time, they will close runway 06L/24R completely, as it needs to be resurfaced. Plus, we will finally get proper high speed exits on that runway next year. As far as dual parallel taxiways are concerned, the first one we will get is an extension of D taxiway into the AC base, and then joining to the A past the A2. This way, landers on runway 24L dont need to always exit at A4 or the end, and can aim for the A2 without delaying the departure queue on runway 24L. This is more important than doubling the B taxiway. But dont expect that before at least 2020-2021.
