Interesting that they already know how many floors they are going to build - it's one thing to have a square footage in mind but without an actual design?    Hopefully this 36 floor announcement is just a preliminary idea and that the architectural plan will evolve.  This is the best site to build tall:  It would be nice if someone in the city or establishment prodded them to at least build a little taller and build a signature tower.

CF s'est fait doubler par le prestige du boulevard Robert-Bourassa qui offre un site inégalable à Montréal. Ça fait longtemps que j'en parle, depuis le début du projet de réaménagement de Bonaventure. Je suis heureux de constater que mon sentiment s'est avéré juste.

Réussite ou pas, ça prenait quand même beaucoup de "guts" pour faire lever cette tour!

It would be nice, but you can't force a company to build a tower bigger than what their needs are!  You could maybe ask them to make their floor plates a little smaller (23,000 sq feet vs 28,000 sq feet), but again, not sure you can impose that on them!

Hopefully the architects will push for a tapered style to make it taller.  Large floor plates at the bottom and smaller floor plates at the top!

Of course you cant force them but I really think that sometimes companies shouldnt be allowed to buy the land if they’re not going to use the full potential of it. But well that’s my skyscraper loving side speaking. Still very excited to see what is going to happen

Le "full potentiel", ce n'est pas la hauteur mais le nombre de pieds carrés. Ici BNC développe le full potentiel (85,000 x 12 = 1,020,000 pc)

Je suis un peu déçu qu'ils aient déjà annoncé 36 étages. J'imagine la banque conservatrice qui veut des "floor plates" de 28k pc - ça risque de finir par une belle boîte carrée. Mais, on va attendre; la bonne nouvelle est qu'on va avoir des nouvelles rapidement. C'est fou, ils roulent à la vitesse de l'éclair dans le développement de ce projet. Première pelleté de terre ce printemps? Really??

That's just not realistic. We would all love to tell companies to build tall and beautiful, but that's not something that can be done!

Pas que je suis un grand "chum" de M. Vachon, mais ça ne me surprends pas de lui! Quand il prend un décision, il s'attend à ce que les choses aillent vite!
