Amazon looking for a location to have a 2nd HQ

Just imagine if Montreal can get Amazon to setup HQ2 here and also win the Hyperloop. This city will be moving. It is a lot of if's.

Amazon won't setup in a canadian city because we don't give subsidies as much as u.s. states are willing to do. Also for political resons, as they will receive a ton of pressure to stay and keep the jobs in the u.s.

As for Hyperloop, it's a pipe dream as the technology to implement it between two distant cities like Montreal and Toronto won't be there for another 25 years.

I do agree with you there. Most states/cities are probably looking to sell their sold to attract Amazon.

It is nice to see Canadian cities trying to attract a large company. 

It will like the Hunger Games.

It's really not surprising, I even said from day 1 that it's most likely Boston getting it and it's understandable why they're front-runners.

Not all of them. En fait, c'est du charabia "In the know" cet article, et ça date du hype qui suivait l'annonce initiale d'Amazon. Y'a rien de concret pour ce qui est des pistes jusqu'à date.

Avec le protectionnisme américain qui a pris de la vigueur avec Trump, je ne les vois pas exporter des dizaines de milliers d'emplois à l'extérieur de leurs frontières. C'est un gros coup médiatique pour les USA et de la poudre aux yeux pour le Canada.
