Vraiment ? La plupart des rumeurs sur twitter et internet parlaient de Chicago. En voila un exemple qui dit qu’ils magasinaient un terrain. Plusieurs médias en parlent dont certains de Philadelphie ou de Pittsburgh (deuxieme photo)

It would be interesting to see Toronto get it, but Trump would become a volcano.

Judging from what I read here and observed on my recent visit to Toronto they seem to have a 'bring it on' attitude. There is so much development that it seems like whole city blocks are being demolished and rebuilt.

At such a rapid rate it is hard to believe that all these developments will contribute to a cohesive urban fabric in the longer term. We already know that these condo towers have many micro units and are not affordable to many. The city continues  to expand upwards and sideways  to accommodate a rapid population growth.  It's like multiple Griffintowns on steroids!  Who will benefit besides the promoters? I think slow controlled growth would provide better results for the longer term.

The election of Ford may make matters worse. There have been many questions and concerns about the Google City development. Amazon may not be good either as the building frenzy may accelerate.  Sometimes it is just better to resist the temptation and take it slow.  Evolution of great and livable cities does not happen overnight.

Amazon is recruiting here. A headhunter this morning said they are expanding heavily in GTA. When asked if it was for HQ2, he said he didn't have any details but everyone in his entourage said it was definitely HQ2 and that it is going to T.O.

J’espere vraiment que ça n’ira pas à Toronto! L’impact sur notre secteur technologique serait non négligeable. On pourrait perdre de précieux talents attirés par les hauts salaire de Amazon..

C'est vrai. Par contre, le cout de vie augmentera à des niveaux ridicules en ajoutant 50,000 emplois à Amazon. On pourrait gagner quelques talents dans le autres domaines qui sont tannés de payer ~2000$/mois pour un 4-1/2.

Amazon’s distribution centre in Caledon will be a million-square-foot facility located near the community of Bolton. It will join Amazon’s network of existing Ontario buildings in Brampton, Mississauga and Milton in servicing the GTA and other areas. It will also handle the packing and shipping of small items.

In Ottawa, Amazon is building a million-square-foot centre in the east end of the city, in a rural area at 5371 Boundary Rd. That facility is owned and being constructed by Montreal-based Broccolini.

J’ai l’impression que lesbtorontois qui sont tannés de vivre dans une ville aussi chère ne pensent pas à Montréal en premier.. je sais que beaucoup déménagent dans d’autres villes ontariennes surtout Ottawa. Je pense vraiment que Montreal manque un peu d’aggressivité. On doit faire plus de publicité sur notre ville tenter de faire connaitre ses avantages etc etc (je sais pas trop comment). C’est une erreur de ne pas voir Toronto comme un adversaire! Si on se bouge pas ils vont tout avaler lol. Les mentalités sont déjà à son avantage donc on a un gros boulot à faire pour changer la perception de ville has been que les gens ont encore bien trop souvent de Montréal. J’ai espoir
