Un peu déçu qu'on envisage de vendre l'entièreté du terrain à un seul promoteur, comme on a un peu trop l'habitude de le faire. 

On verra avec le PPU, mais la ville devrait s'imposer pour ce projet, aménager le site elle-même, le subdiviser et le faire développer par plusieurs promoteurs qui s'adresseront à des acheteurs différents (luxe, abordable, résidence, famille, etc.). Les Bassins du nouveau havre était un premier pas dans la bonne direction à mon avis.

Ceci ouvre la possibilité d’aménager une promenade riveraine entre la rue Frontenac et la rue Amherst, une distance d'environ 2 kilometres !

Molson to maintain historic presence in Montreal

MONTRÉAL, Aug. 15, 2018 /CNW Telbec/ - Molson Coors is pleased to announce that the company's offices will remain in Montréal upon commissioning of the new brewery in Longueuil in 2021.

A reflection on the future of the site and an imminent sale

For months now, Molson and the City of Montréal have been collaborating to reflect on the future of the site on Notre-Dame street in a context of transformation of the area. Therefore, meetings are held with the Borough of Ville-Marie and city officials to get an agreement in principle for the development of the site and draft a statement of heritage interest for the land owned by Molson. As Mr. Landtmeters underscored, "The move will provide for the redevelopment of the site and the creation of a new Montréal neighbourhood to honour the history of the brewery and the Molson family."

As regards to the sale of the site, it will be put up for sale this fall. Before being able to expound at greater length on the impact that the decision is likely to have on existing infrastructure and company employees, a number of outstanding items remain to be settled. 

"A project of this scope takes many years to materialize and it is only normal that certain aspects have yet to be finalized.  For us at Molson, it is essential that we do things right out of respect for our employees and given the heritage value of our company," Mr. Landtmeters concluded.

Nouveau Griffintown

Les bonnes nouvelles se multiplient pour l'est du centre-ville ! Une chose est certaine, le Quartier des Faubourgs  va certainement être le nouveau Griffintown (terrains Radio-Canada, ajout de fonctionnaires sur Fullum, projet Molson...). La cerise sur le sundae serait un annonce pour le projet sur les Quais de Lorimier.

Je ne pense pas que la ville avait le moyen/courage d'acheter des terrains d'une telle valeur. Attendons de voir le prix de vente. De toute façon il va avoir des accords de principe qui vont donner la direction au nouvel acheteur.

Achat - planification - lotissement - revente. 

Je ne vois pas comment la Ville serait perdante financièrement. Les terrains morceler valent probablement plus chers une fois que l'aménagement de l'espace public est annoncé et même réalisé. 

EDIT : mais bon, si quelqu'un peut démentir mon impression, j'ai hâte de le lire.

Pas perdante, courageuse pour le faire.  C'est juste mon feeling avec Projet Montréal. Ils semblent frileux quand c'est des questions de 'gros bucks'. C'est leur premier mandat et je pense qu'ils sont peur de faire des erreurs/gaffes avec les fonds publics...C'est peut-être aussi une question de manque d'expérience pour gouverneur au niveau de la ville ou arrondissement aussi important comme Ville-Marie. Just a feeling....
