Westjet need to wake up and go east because the west would stagnate more than anything else. The oil bonanza is over, we won't see that much fly in fly out for the oil industry's workers like we've seen before.

Let's see if the anti-Air Canada brigade on this forum accuses WestJet of trying to "kill" the competition. These are all routes flown by AIr Canada for 5 decades.

 

I think competition is good thing, but this is a test of the integrity of certain members on this board

This is good news on many levels. First just that they are finally taking a serious interest in YUL, two, being the first significant upgrade in flights in years here; three, the start of business routes to the US and lastly the overall focus on upgrading domestic flights and opening the possibility of offering more connections. It should position them better for trans-Atlantic flights in the near future.

Nice little additions but they have also quietly dropped a couple of routes from YUL they passed year.

 

Las Vegas went 1 weekly last May and then never continued passed June. And Varadero was dropped this winter.

Peut-être, mais je n'ai jamais compris pourquoi ils ont laissé tomber LAS. J'ai emprunter cette liaison quelques fois et c'était full à chaque fois. Si AC peut aller jusqu'à trois vols par jour à certaine période de l'année et en B767 le reste du temps, c'est qu'il y a un potentiel de ce côté-là.
