11,327,934 million for the YTD, 6.3% growth, compared to 10,652,379 for 2015 at this time, a 674,555 passenger increase.

 

This is great news. If the pace stays the same, YUL could see 17 million passengers this year!

This is impressive growth...for anywhere. I don`t have access to specific breakdown as to where the growth occurs, but personally, I would give most of the credit to Air Canada. Internationally, they introduced flights to Lyon and Casablanca. They increased capacity to Paris, London, Nice, Rome , Athens and Barcelona. They began 3 daily flights to Hamilton (which is not part of Toronto!!!) daily flights to Denver and Dallas and 3 daily to Philadelphia. And I am sure there was more on some of the vacation routes.

In addition to AC, we have new service from WOW and Icelandair to Iceland; Tunisair to Tunis and a second daily Casablanca flight by RAM.

I agree, AC has been an important part of this.

As for YUL's full year 2016 pax count, I'll guesstimate 16,450,000, and I hope I'm underestimating!

Fantastic results. Great that Air Canada is contributing so much to this growth. With Asian expansion coming who knows where this will go. Now next, a Porter hub? And maybe Westjet might acknowledge we even exist.*

We need to focus on attracting demographic growth and economic growth. Montreal still has a tough time putting itself on the map internationally vs. Boston/Toronto/Vancouver/Chicago

 

partout au Canada, la croissance massive de la population vient de l'international. Montréal est 4e ou 5e en Amérique du Nord pour le nombre d'immigrants internationaux /année. dans les 45-55k. Le ''problème'' à Montréal c'est que la ville n'attire pas énormément de gens de l'intérieur du Canada.

gigantic 10.1% increase to*1,462,134. YTD is now*12,789,430, up from 11,980,205 in 2015 or 6.8%.

Insane growth. September was busier than June. YUL is up 800k over 2015 with 3 months to go. 16.5 million or more is now possible *

so according to these numbers, 16.5 million passengers should be in the bag. If things go well for the last three months, we can even hope for 17 million! Unbelievable!

On a réalisé en 9 mois ce que l'on a réussi à avoir en 12 mois en 2010 (12.9 M de passagers) !!! Je constate surtout l'ajout de nouvelles destinations et l'augmentation de fréquence sur plusieurs lignes qui contribuent à faire augmenter le nombre de passagers de façon considérable. Comme le dit ACPNC, il y a un cercle vertueux qui se crée à l'aéroport, entraînant avec lui d'autres bénéfices!

Une chose est sûre, nous atteindrons 17 millions de passagers en 2017. Notre objectif devrait d'avoir 20 millions de passagers d'ici 2020.
